Toussaint Lorenz is a busy man. Between juggling his entertainment company I.B.O.H, “I’ll Be Over Here”, a fresh clothing brand, “222”, and creating music I was excited to grab a few moments of his time for this socially distanced interview via email.

Erick Antonio Benitez

Erick Antonio Benitez

There is no denying that our rich, diverse cultures, help format how we all express our art. The Bronx-born Salvadorian artist uses vivid cultural themes in his paintings and sculptures. His "Gangster's Paradise" series embodies this wholeheartedly. In order to cultivate this unique skill-set, Erick has traveled to his native El Salvador and studied abroad at the "Metafora Tallers d'Arte" in Barcelona, Spain. The artist currently manages studios and curates shows at "La Bodega Gallery", a part of the Artists Collective located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Amanda Rothschild

Amanda Rothschild recieved her BFA in Painting with minors in Art History and Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis. She now lives in New York City as she continues to produce amazing pieces while working at The Met (Metropolitan Museum of New York).

Her paintings, primarily done in oil, focus on emphasizing and beautifying otherwise mundane places and objects through the physicality of a painted surface.  She works with overlooked objects, often those found in an average home, including microwaves and countertops, especially focusing on sinks and drains. These paintings use areas of abstraction combined with areas of precise detail that give these objects a life and narrative separate from their original utilitarian usage. During her years at Washington University in St. Louis she has been featured in a number of student shows including Knuckle Knuckle: a Junior Painting show, and Community Visuals: A Student Exhibition in Two Dimensions. She has served as both treasurer and president of the Art School Council and was an active member of the Undergraduate Council, while also serving on the Undergraduate Experience Committee. She was nominated for the Eileen Battell Stoeckel fellowship in the spring of 2013 and received the Eda L. and Clarence C. Cushing Memorial Prize in Painting in 2013. Prior to her managing role at The Met, Amanda worked as a Studio Assistant in the studio of St. Louis based artist John Sarra and worked as a Museum Teaching Intern at the Saint Louis Art Museum. Dee Glazer

Dee Glazer

I am not striving for an ideal in my work, nor am I advocating a return to the past. My work is a neutral expression of how things currently are. I paint the new organic of regulated flows and organized chaos, where what is "human" or "natural" is increasingly systematized and mechanized.  -Dee Glazer 2012

Her collection of artwork is masterful. Very creative, colorful and rhythmatic. New age surrealism? Anywho, these piece are must see, and, oh yeah... for sale! Got to see these.

"My favorite place to draw is in front of the television. For me, drawing is an obsession similar to the act of binge watching. When I make images, I feel like I am connecting and disconnecting myself from the world around me. My compulsion to make things is an outlet, and unlike my compulsion to watch TV, a seemingly more productive one...

Working with wood, gesso, ink, and latex paint, I create drawings and paintings that depict my relationship to contemporary technology. I also explore a more universal, or 'everyman,' response to the means of communication and distraction that overwhelm and intertwine with our everyday lives.

The work is celebratory and simultaneously records the dissent into the information age of ever-growing technological dependency. I find the work to be comedic and horrible at the same time, a sort of modest monument to the average consumer.

These concepts, as well as my drive to make art, are linked to my background in philosophy. Making art allows me to play with these notions in a more abstract manner, allowing for the free play of associations and the transformations of subtle details. Drawing allows me to express ideas that I do not yet have the words for."
