Sameland is an electronic and pop music group based out of Sydney, Australia. Initially, it had started out as a solo project, but once Sameland released the first single “Never Like This” with featuring vocals from Lucy Laidlaw, the talented Becci Meijer (songwriter/lead vocal) decided to join Luke Clark (songwriter/producer) to make Sameland a duo. The two have a nice chemistry together and the music seems to really flow with the duo’s sharp skills as producer and vocalist. Sameland has released three singles over the past several months and the response so far has been promising.

Their most recent release “Tonic Take 2” is a remix of their single “Tonic.”

A very refreshing disco beat underlines “Tonic Take 2.” A beatific piano melody meanders for a bit as funky bass lines and driven guitars features a very fun vibe. The remix like the original is filled with some feel-good vibes that is very uplifting. Tonic 2.0 adapts a groovier and more funk-based sound than its predecessor, going on to give the track a breath of fresh air. I loved how inviting and energized the vocals were. I thought Meijer really delivers here.

Sameland shows us that they can approach the exact same song and give it an entirely different spin. This proves that the band’s music is an experience from start to finish. The duo is fast making a name for themselves in the industry. As their brand of pop and electronic music grows, be sure to keep them on your radar for the upcoming year!
