Born in Henley-on-Thames, Ella M made her debut when she was 16 years old, uploading her first track to Spotify. After her family moved to New York when she was 11, she honed her passions in music by studying opera and listening to the likes of Erykah Badu, The Police, Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone and more. Ella now lives and works in LA. Her work on the West Coast has been a prolific one; she dropped her first ever single just seven months ago and she’s already on her fifth, “Selfish,” with an EP on the way too.
The MV to her latest single “Selfish” features Ella on a road trip across the U.S. cruising down the lanes with one of her best friends. The video shows them having a blast, visiting museums, shopping, going horseback riding and lounging on the beach. The music itself has a simmering, slow grooving vibe to it. With the artist’s pop and soul influences, she brings a real cool, classic R&B feel to this smooth number.
