The latest single from East London’s keaton dekker, “mint,” via Chess Club Records is a dark and dreamy journey through a blend of R&B and bedroom pop.

The track expands on his synth-heavy, ‘80s tinged dream pop sound that has quickly taken him to the forefront as UK’s most promising and rising acts in the scene.

The single comes off his highly anticipated debut EP the unwelcome series to be released on September 18th. The EP is accompanied by empowering visuals that coincides themes of the trappings of Gen-Z relationships and how social media and technology affects them.

Candidly raw and youthful, the EP was written in a then teenage dekker’s bedroom. The freshness and spontaneity within the album will speak to an eclectic crowd looking for the next pop hit.

“mint” is synth-heavy driven by a dreamy pop R&B vibe. The visuals are very raw with dekker performing in front of car headlights and in his bedroom. This gives a very intimate home recording feel to the visual. Multiple dekkers make an appearance on this video, giving a dark look into the world of social media.

In the spirit of the DIY work ethic, dekker not only records and produces his own work, he’s also heavily involved in his videos. He makes his directorial debut on the new visual for “ITYK.” dekker is also a champion for live, independent music, having run his own festival “v_01d” for three years, a ‘mini-Meltdown’ booked entirely by him and his friend Sophie DeMasi. At only 20, and as POC & queer member of the LGBTQ+ community, dekker is fast rising as one of the most refreshing and essential voices in the UK pop scene. With the unwelcome series, sees the artist already turning heads as one of the exciting new artists to look out for. Expect more exciting new things to come from the artist in 2020.
