Freebxll Will Featured

"Baby I was hoping you can ride with me..." Lyrics of the chorus to 'Ride with Me' produced by Kerwin Clemens has been on repeat all day!  Freebxll Will provides a blend of that new wave hip hop, mixed in with this new age R&B.  Don't need to be a fan of the genre to vibe with this, but the man can sing and brings his 90's-like Soul to the table. His catalog is, as already mentioned, repeat-worthy - beats fire as well.

Freebxll Will is a R&B artist from Metro-Detroit Michigan. He is most known for his debut project Pink Room and for his track “Famous”. He puts a lot of time and effort into his craft and you can tell from the work he puts out. He is in the genre-defying creative collective The Lobby. Freebxll Will is currently (as of July 2018) working on a new project named LET LOVE DIE. There will be plenty more songs from Freebxll Will in the future.

Cassle Fires

Imagine it's 1987 and you're in the movie theatre watching a blockbuster Philip K. Dick inspired film directed by Ridley Scott.  Not Bladerunner, but the soundtracks Cassle Fires creates makes it feel like it. Cassle Fires - Instrumental duo from Saint Paul, Minnesota fuses genres post-punk and dark-wave together to produce instrumentals that carry this 90’s retro Nirvana-feel, vibes perfect for independent film projects or background tracks for other visual projects.  They’ve tagged their sound as 'soundtrack, art-rock, dark-wave, industrial, krautrock, lo-fi, new wave, post-punk'.

Stay tuned on where they will perform next by following their Facebook page.

Check out their projects via Bandcamp or Soundcloud.

Doug "The Sleeping Bag" Campbell

Doug 'The Sleeping Bag' Campbell is a multi-talented young Independent musician from Louisville, Kentucky.   Now in 2018 and only 16, Doug has produced 5 albums within the last two years, each covering a new ground of sub-genres in avant-garde, indie rock, and post rock.  Packed with acoustic synergy and DEEP lyrics. Very deep.

A popular Music Magazine Never Nervous from Louisville has stated that his solo projects “blends the earnestness of Elliot Smith with the melancholia and sense of exploration and vulnerability of Mount Eerie”.

His passion for music is not only evident in his growing catalog of his unique sound and style, but also what he's done with his friends outside his studio - cofounding Lo-Fi Lullaby Records, a music collective with his friends that curates several other independent talents with their own unique vibe.

When asked to describe his latest albums, Doug gave a very detailed and thorough response for each - a good look into the origins of his creativity, his sound and his rembrandt-like journey. We're definitely looking forward to his progression.

The Sleeping Bag: My first album, Sadness Eternal, released October 25th, 2016, chronicles the stories of a man I met named, Anthony, in a rehab center. Though I say “chronicles” (I guess in an attempt to sound sophisticated or something), I more so mean represented. The album contains no vocals up until the second-to-last track, in which I retell the story of how he ended up in the rehabilitation center after a drunk driving incident left him badly injured and took his best friend’s life. It’s a short album, but nonetheless and album dedicated to him and his struggle to overcome alcoholism.

My second album released only 4 months after is my longest release to date, at an easy hour and seven minutes. What If You Stayed This Time (the name of the record), tells the story of a boy questioning whether or not his summer has been worth living or not after finding out the girl he’s been chasing the whole time is generally not interested. Looking back on it now it seems like a bit of a stretch, but it contains some of my best writing (I think). And even under a cheesy narrative, I manage to keep the sounds of the album very reserved, aggressive, and somewhat contemplative.

3rd record, No Frustration.  Not much story to be told. It’s an album inspired by divorce and what it’s like to be a kid growing up in a broken home. It’s an album that focuses more on musical growth in my progression as a musician, not so much my lyricism, although I do manage to tell a concise story.

4th record, I’m On Your Side.  Easily my most personal album. This album truly chronicles the chaotic end of my longest friendship. I don’t know much know how to describe it in words, other than the words I used to describe it at the time of its release, noted on the back of the CD:

I hadn’t originally intended to release YET another album before the end of 2017, but recent events led to rapid songwriting. This album signifies the death of an abusive friendship and each song represents the nails in its coffin; a coffin filled with memories that are useless to me now; memories I once cherished but now dread to recall...

This is a final resting place...Goodbye old Friend...

This album is my most accessible and most well known album to date. Instead of a lo-fi sound quality with distorted guitars throughout. I opted for a storytelling approach and kept it strictly acoustic (for the most part). Lyrics deal with nightmares, murder of the ego, wearing masks, and ultimately, the motif of “where will your family be when you die?” along with “who is your family?”.

My 5th album was set to release June 1st, but the release will most likely have to be pushed back on account of the fact that I am unemployed and currently lack the funds to have CD’s manufactured."

The past year and a half has been a quiet one for the normally, visible and outspoken Kanye West. After releasing his 2016 album, "The Life of Pablo", Ye embarked on a nationwide tour to acompany the album release. On one of the tour dates in November, Kanye apparently had a major meltdown, which lead him to spend his thanksgiving 2K16 in a mental hospital. Ever since then, Kanye has been lowkey and private, deactivating all his social media accounts. Well, last week, Ye Began tweeting kanye-esque philosophical type tweets that sent the world into a frenzy.

Along with those philosophical tweets, Kanye has been tweeting what some would deem controversial. For one, his support for right wing analyst Candace Owens was not taken well by many. On top of that, his co-sign for our current president Donald J. Trump, was taken even worse. It's safe to say that many have believed Kanye to be in "The Sunken Place" for quite some time, now.

Well, lets get to the meat of this post; the reason your even reading this. King Yeezus is blessing us with not ONE but TWO new albums this summer! And on top of that, he's also producing new albums for a slab of musicians!

Last week, he made the major announement that he would be releasing his 7 track solo album on June 1st, followed by a Collaboration album with Kid Cudi entitled "Kids See Ghost", the following week on June 8th. For anyone who knows me, they know that Kanye West and Kid Cudi are tied for my number one favorite musicians to walk the planet! So, obviousy, I'm beyond hype about this release.

But on top of his personal releases, Kanye also announced a list of musicians he's producing albums for via this tweet.

"I'm hand producing all the albums I tweeted about. Been chopping samples from the sunken place ?Pusha May 25th My album June 1st me and Cudi June 8th and Teyana June 22nd and oh yeah... Nas June 15th"

The fact that Kanye is aware that people think he's in "The Sunken Place" lets me know that he's also aware that people think he's fallen off ever since he's become Kanye Kardshian.  Knowing the type of person and EGO that Kanye has, I'm sure he's out to prove to people that he hasnt fallen off of anything. Kanye recently tweeted that producing beats for Nas makes him feel 18 again. Teyanna Taylor has even went on record to say that the "Polo Ye" has returned.

All this being said, I must say that I am HYPED for June. Yeezy season is upon us and I cannot wait to see what the legend has cooked up for us. Stay tuned for more updates !
