Ok, so first things first. Before Wonder Woman was released, its fair to say that we can all agree that the DCEU LITTERALLY Couldnt take another L, right? (lol)
With the mediocre/lackluster reviews for "Man of Steel", "Batman V Superman", & Suicide Squad, if Wonder Woman had been a bust, the DCEU would have been SCREWED! Okay honestly, If Wonder Woman DID flop, it wouldnt have been the last straw. The Last straw would have been the Justice League movie set for a November 2017 release. That being said though, all this what if is out the window because "Wonder Woman" did not flop and it actually ended up surpassing expectations!
The movie went on to bring in over 100 million in its first week, making it the largest opening for a female director! So salute to Patty Jenkins for that accolade. While watching the movie, I immediately began thinking to myself that the plot and concept of the movie was very similar to Captain America. Mix in a lil bit of Thor and you get Wonder Woman! It worked though and it worked well.
There was nothing innovative perse about the movie and it didnt take many risk. That being said, it was a great story that played out well all the way through. My BIGGEST gripe with the DCEU is how much of a sad boy they made superman! Superman in the comic books was always a character that was supposed to be an example of the perfect human being. Honest and pure, loving and charismatic. The DCEU superman is a depressed emo kinda character and I litterally have no idea why he even feels obligated to be a hero because he sure doesnt act like he wants to be a hero. I HATE that about the DCEU Superman. My friend was like well if I was him, Id be depressed too! I thought about that and agreed. It just sucks how the DCEU set things up to be so crappy for Superman. All this being said, I mention that becasuse Wonder Woman is the perfect rebuttal to that! She was so pure and honest and genuine and she wanted to help humanity at all cost because she had an innate feeling that, this is what she was created for! Even when its clear that humanity doesnt deserve her, she still maintains her desire to help. I LOVED that about her character! A hero who ACTUALLY WANTS to be a hero is nice! The woman who played her Gal Gadot was so light on the eyes, omg! She is litteraly probably one of the most beautiful Woman walking this planet (lol) That being said though, her beauty never overshadowed the fact that she is a supreme BADASS! BRO! She was smart and had a pure pleasant demeanor but when it came to battles and fighting?!?! BOY SHE WAS NOT TO BE EFFED WITH! (lol) She was a super strong female character and I know theres a lack of those in hollywood, so it was lovely to see her get her shine and recognition.
I didnt expect to like her love interest judging from the trailers but he immediately made me eat those thoughts. I fell in love with the character of Steve because like Wonder Woman, he came off as extremely genuine and good hearted. I loved how everytime the Lasso of truth was used on him, his inner true nature was always honest and he genuinely desired the best for humanity. He was a HERO! Im not familiar with the actor Chris Pine's previous work, but I do know that I am a fan now after watching this movie.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie and believe it deserves all the hype and recognition it has been reveiving. The only negative criticism I really have for the movie is that it was messy with the greek mythology. It seemed liked they touch on deep concepts dealing with the corruption of humanity and the conflict she faced as to why she should help them. They would break the surface but then just stop and never get too deep. I wanted to deny that but then the pals i went to see it with pointed that out, and I couldnt deny it.
I loved Wonder Woman in "Batman VS Superman" and I love the dynamics their creating between her and Bruce Wayan. I dont know if they plan to have Wonder Woman and Batman be a thing but they did it in the justice league cartoon series and I just have the say I am def with the shits if thats the case (lol). Batman and Wonder Woman would be the dopest couple, like what?!? hahaha
After the success of this movie, I am really looking forward to what the DCEU has in store with more releases. They stumbled a little with their start, trying to keep up with Marvel Studios, Id Imagine. However, I think they are starting to gain their feet and I wish them the best! Because as a Comic Nerd, I WANT all comic book movies to win! Thanks for tuning in yall, until next time, Peace and much Love!

So around 2011/2012-ish my big sister Megan put me on to the rapper Logic and I have pretty much been a fan since ever since. The first thing I immediately noted that drew me in as a fan was the fact that he is from the DMV and reps it hard. I love when artist rep their region and it's even better when that region their reppin is your home!
The second thing I noticed with Logic is that his music is super authentic and relatable. The whole brand he's created modernizing the Frank Sinatra brand comes off as fresh and genuine. I feel that is a big reason why his fan base is so loyal.
Two songs that I specifically remember turning me into a fan were : "Mind of Logic" & "All I Do". I loved "Mind of Logic" because he flipped the song "Mr Rager" by Kid Cudi and the music video was beautifully shot. Logic actually rocked my friend Noah's clothing brand LoLaFo In this video!
I loved the "All I Do" song because it was a relatable song about working haled, Chasing dreams, and chillin with pretty woman ( lol ). So over the years, Logic has evolved with each and every project he has released. It has been so dope to watch him grow from a generally unknown artist to the superstar that he is today.
His newest album "EVERYBODY" touches on themes ranging from religion and politics to suicide and more. With this album, LOGIC takes you into his head vocalizing the struggles he's faces from both black and white people at the expense of his Bi-racial identity. The album has a back story going on amongst the songs that has Neil Degrasse Tyson playing God. I found the talking skits thought provoking and interesting. With the trend of featuring stories and skits in music, I feel LOGIC had one of the more potent ones. With Features ranging from old school artist like Black Thought & Chuck D to new school artist like Alesia Cara , Logic blends in with his featured artist And them shine yet, still hes never overshadowed .
For a long time I feel like LOGIC was popular as in a cult following popular and it was with this album that people not only started recognizing him as a mainstream name but were mentioning him with rappers like cole, Kendrick, and Sean. All in all I give the album a 4/5 and am happy that people are finally puttting some Respek on his name!
Anyone who knows me, Know that Kanye West is in my personal Fav Top 5 list (Top 5 Top 5 Top 5 #DrakeVoice) of musicians to ever do it. Being born in 92', Kanye's career started popping off around the same time I started really getting into music. A time where your a teenager and EVERYTHING is super exciting because its all so new. Outkast, Kanye, Lupe Fiasco, and Pharrell are the rappers who really got me nurtured into Hip-hop culture in my early teens. All five of these brothas strayed away from the typical tropes of Hip-Hop music: Drugs, woman, Money, street cred, etc. & if they DID talk about it, it was in the most unique of ways. I wasnt the type of kid to get a lot of girls nor be invited to any parties (Unless of course that party involved Cake and Parental supervision). I never smoked or drank in high school. I was never suspended for anything or even had a detention. Long story, short. I was Good AF (lol)
Hip-Hop was my drug of choice and the only one I hit growing up. Like the popular Lupe Fiasco song says; "Hip-Hop (LITTERALLY) Saved my life". Later on in my teenage years, it'd be bands like FALL OUT BOY and PARAMORE who would begin to wet my feet into the rock world that I adore so much these days.
All this being said, The point I'm trying to make is that Kanye has been in my life for a very long time. The phrase "Kids of Kanye" doesnt exist for no reason. For many Millenials, Mr. West has been there since we were young. He has gotten us through tough times. He has provide the soundtrack for the turn up. He's made us laugh with lines like "And on the 18th birthday, found out it wasnt HISSSS?!?!" . West was never known to be super lyrical but his signature flow and style of writing is and always will be distinct to him. Time and time again Kanye has pushed the limit for creativity within a genre that finds success in the minimalism of subgenres like mumble, gangsta, and trap rap.
So the question as of lately has been, Where in the world is Kanye west?
He has not been seen out in public in a very long time and according to his wife, Kim Kardashian West, He has been having "Personal time" to himself and not leaving the house.
I have a theory that elaborates on what she just described. This past November, Kanye went on one of the realest rants of his career. Lets call it the "FUCK RADIO" rant. Kanye was spitting some SUPER REAL shit, but the media tried to play it like "Oh boy, there goes CRAZY KANYE". All of us woke mofo's though? Kanye had simply said something that we all have been thinking for forever! IM TIRED OF HEARING THE SAME DAMN TEN SONGS OVER AND OVER AGAIN! (lol)
Shortly after that incident, Kanye was placed in a mental hospital for a few weeks. Whole time, Im sitting there like what? This man kanye goes and speaks some of the realest words of his career and he gets put in a mental asylum for it? This man spent his thanksgiving in a mental hospital because he went on stage and spoke the truth. This world is crazy, man.
So yes my theory: My theory is that Kanye is legit in the sunken place. (GET OUT was iconic, wasnt it? :D) I'm not here to trash the Kardashians hence I didnt mention their influence in this, but um...yeah I know we're all thinking it ( lol ) and I'm not here to be a conspiracy theorist blogger, either. All Imma say is this : MK Ultra Mind Control. Google it. And then Seriously yall, Pray for our big brother Kanye.
